Summary/Abstract: Throughout time, the name of the Flondor family was associated with the constant attention of initiating projects, associations or societies able to reflect the active engagement of the family in various directions aimed to support the cultural approaches, beneficences or to promote music. Tudor Flondor, the first son of Gheorghe Flondor and Isabela Dobrowolski de Buchental, was considered the second great composer of Bucovina, surpassed only by the unique personality of Ciprian Porumbescu. Tudor Flondor used his artistic talent to animate the Romanian cultural activity in an Austrian Bucovina. Not only was he a gifted musician, but he also proved to be a dedicated mayor in his village, Rogojeşti, and a deputy, representing the Romanian National Party.
