Summary/Abstract: Implementation of the assumptions of social justice is a publicly declared objective of the SME and the object of theoretical deliberations in the first part of the paper. The objective of the second part is verifying its implementation in the last decade on the grounds of selected case studies. In this part, which is at the same time an analysis of empirical data, the authoress presents, inter alia, redistribution of public resources and its effect on the reduction – if there has been one – of the stratification of income. The analysis is focused particularly on the situation in Germany and refers also, in order to make comparisons, to the situation in Poland. The summary includes conclusions resulting from the analysis and conflicts of interest resulting from the assumptions of social market economy on the way to implementation of social justice.
