Summary/Abstract: The begining of modern dance is presented in short, insisting on the importance of Kurt Joos. Pina Bausch and other reformers of dance performance from the Federal Republic of Germany took over impulses from Joos, adapting them corresponding to their view. The study also describes the way how Pina Bausch created her program, it’s reception, taken at the beginning with rejection and later on with acceptance. On the example of the Pina Bausch production Café Müller/ Ein Frühlingsopfer the new elements concerning contemporary dance come into evidence, elements present even nowadays in Wuppertal, in Europe and all over the world.
