The village Sućeska socio-historical and demographic sketches of continuity of life

Summary/Abstract: This paper outlines the study results of the origin and settlement of the inhabitants in the Sućeska region. The research was conducted on the basis of available archaeological and historical sources as well as individual exploration. Sućeska is a major part of municipality of Srebrenica. The area of focus in this paper is the topography of 13 settlements that were taken into account and their physical-and anthropogeographic aspects defined as Sućeska region. Today, the Sućeske region manly includes territory that encompass local community "Sućeska", with the following settlements: Bostahovine, Brakovci, Bučinovići, Lipovac, Opetci, Podgaj, Podosoje, Slatina, Starglavice, Sućeska and Žedanjsko. In additio, due to the preservation of historical, cultural, geographical and ethno-geographic longevity of the development of this area it is appropriate to assume that the Sućeska region also includes settlements Kutuzero and Bučje.
