Summary/Abstract: The paper consists of two parts. The first one presents the discussion about the beginning and end of postmodernism, on one hand, and its influence on the Bulgarian postmodern process, on the other. The second part focuses on Calvino’s idea on “multiplicity” in literature. It is interpreted as one of the characteristics of the Bulgarian postmodern novel. The examples in this paper are from the following two novels: “The Japanese and The Flow” by Zlatomir Zlatanov and “Natural novel” by Georgi Gospodinov.
