Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the author’s figure examined through the lens of some of the 20th-century’s fundamental literary paradigms. This author’s figure is further considered in the context of a closer examination of the autobiographical and its narrative generating capacity. The specific features of the Bulgarian literary field of the autofiction narrative are of scholarly interest (this has not been paid much attention in the literature). Dimitar Korudzhiev's The Garden with the Blackbirds (1984) serves as a research object of the paper.
