Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate internships as a form of the working experience, and to show their importance in shaping the attitudes and working intentions of tourism and hospitality students, who are perceived as a future and well qualified tourism workforce. The research problem was to find the answers for two specific questions: whether the student internships constitute an important educational space conducive to learning by providing students with real working experience; whether this experience can influence the perception of the industry and shape positive attitudes of students towards their future work in tourism. Research results showed that successful working experience during internships may potentially play an important role in shaping positive attitudes of students towards their future employment in the tourism industry and may contribute to their working intentions in the industry after graduation.
