Summary/Abstract: The article presents characteristic life strategies of Calvinist Hungarians living in the diaspora of the south of Transylvania through individual examples. It presents the major social problems of the community and emphasizes the processes of linguistic and ethnic assimilation, the questions of ethnic consciousness and the role of the church in shaping identity.
