Summary/Abstract: The article presents the increasing importance of project stakeholders within a fifty year time frame. Based on the literature review the assumed division (internal and external stakeholders), the roles of stakeholders and their influence on project success are discussed. Furthermore, the significance of Stakeholder Management is outlined in the context of intensive interactions which exist in multi-project environments and new research directions are proposed.
