Challenges, Opportunities and Threats Carried by Certain Civilizational Trends

Summary/Abstract: In the situation of crisis not only in the economic, but also social, political and cultural dimension assuming of civilization trends more expressive form, are becoming more available to the description and analysis. It is necessary to emphasize that only these chosen, concerning4peculiarly societies will be described and of the knowledge: liberalization, secularization, modernization, globalization, europeanization, spreading the higher education among the masses and commodifi cation of knowledge. The attempt of their analysis will allow to highlight the co-occurrence of challenges, chances and threats, brought by these trends. He will create also a possibility of outlining possible scenarios of of civilization changes in Poland and not only.
