Summary/Abstract: The USA still remains the bastion of religiousness in the Western world. Unlike most European Union countries, here the notion of religiousness and religion itself are common and deeply rooted in the social and political life. According to the author, religious pluralism is responsible for this phenomenon; it ensures the principle of religious freedom. Different competing branches of Christianity efficiently meet all the religious needs of the people.
