Summary/Abstract: The usage of different literary techniques in Chinese Misty poetry expresses the poets’ reflection on human nature, self-value and their longing for spiritual freedom. Such artistically stylistic device as contrast is often used in Chinese contemporary poetry, it is mostly implemented by means of antonymic and reverse images, colors, feelings and actions. The contrast as a semantic and contextual device helps to influence the reader’s perception and imagination, and as a stylistic device it gives more expressiveness to verses. Misty poets often used semantic contrast as well as stylistic techniques and figures built with the help of contraposition and antonymy.
