Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the occurrence of venereal diseases in Szczecin in the years 1967−1969. Special attention was paid to social and behavioral factors specific for a port city. Main courses of action in the fight against venereal diseases in Szczecin were emphasized. Szczecin, a large port city created favorable conditions for the spread of venereal diseases among the population. Among the various factors should be pointed out, inter alia, a high spatial mobility, a variety of occupational categories related not only to the maritime and urban anonymity contacts. It should be noted, however, that the observed increase in venereal diseases in the city in the analyzed period was the result of various factors.
