SKILLS MISMATCHES AND UNEMPLOYMENT OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

Summary/Abstract: The deepening of the youth employment crisis differentiates the situation of young people on the labor market, leads to underutillisation of skills and widens the gap between skills supply and demand. This article discusses a transition of the youth onto the labour market, the risks associated with skills mismatches and social costs of the crisis – the rise of NEET generation, people who are neither working, nor studying nor participating in training courses.
