Summary/Abstract: Our study aims to investigate the role of the Institute of Socio-Human Research Sibiu in the safeguarding of traditional culture and civilization in Romania. After six decades of existence, the ethnology compartment of the Institute… has a positive balance: 25 published books, an archive of folklore, a specialized periodical publication, several research projects on traditional culture in southern Transylvania.
