Summary/Abstract: Turkey as a state about special geopolitical meaning is a remarkably essential actor of the international relations. The army of this state in the history of the Republic, it is from 1923 is having a leading role in it. However in the perspective of the last 12 years an internal arrangement of the relations between civilian authorities and the military establishment is undergoing changes. In order to understand these interactions in this paper first presents the concept of “Kemalism” in the context of socio-political divisions within the society of this country. This is reflected in the recent history of this country, which should be dated from the coup on September 12. 1980. It is ground for understanding transformations which took place after the takeover in Turkey by AKP in 2002 and embrace the prime ministership by R.T.Erdogana. Successes of the party he’s leading in later years aren't comparable with the performance of other parties which existed on the Turkish political landscape. Constantly conflict unfolding in the adopted period between the army and the AKP government affects for reducing the role of the army in the political system of the state. What's more these restrictions are reposing in legislative changes based on constitutional referenda in 2003, 2007 and 2010. On that account the author is reaching a conclusion that the political role of the army in Turkey is being limited by civilian authorities. Simultaneously on the military plain for her power will be still developed, because it is deciding about the safety of the country.
