Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes geopolitical importance of Chechnya for the Russian Federation. It is concentrated on a few problems: provision of human rights, the problems of stability in region, international terrorism, energy security and separatist activities contrasted with Russia’s Imperial Policy. The Russian Federation strives to maintain its presence in North Caucasus (especially Chechnya) – it’s one of the most important priorities of the Russia’s foreign policy.
