Summary/Abstract: The following academic article is due to imply and remind, in the fortieth anniversary of his death, the most significant piece of work of the most eminent and distinguished historian of modern literature in the XX century, Julian Krzyżanowski.The thorough contemplations put emphasis on the oeuvre, that merges the historian`s lore to his tremendous spirit of a comparatist. Moreover, as such, the work would constitute a compendium of Polish Literature since the Medieval times up till contemporary.It is firmly believed, that the Historian`s (the Master`s) efforts undertaken in the field of Polish studies and the study of folklore are appropriate to mention furthermore.
