Summary/Abstract: The article underlines importance of analyzing of the situation in all the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The author assessed the relative level of socio-economic development and the evaluation of the level of power of the twenty countries in the region. In terms of socio-economic highest level of development received Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Estonia and Slovakia. In contrast, the highest powers in Central and Eastern Europe are Poland and Ukraine (although recent events, this level was significantly lowered) and at a much lower level of Romania and the Czech Republic.
