AFGHAN GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY – POLITICAL BACKGROUND AND RATING OF FUNCTIONALITY

Summary/Abstract: The article explains current political situation in Afghanistan, focuses on the phenomenon of the National Unity Government. First part describes circumstances, in which this unique for the history of Afghanistan administrative subject was brought to life. Second one is the analysis of the founding document of the National Unity Government. Further part presents prerogatives of the newly created Chief Executive Post. Then author explains, how the National Unity Government acts in practice, with particular emphasis on its consequences for the security and internal balance. Fifth part is a brief evaluation of the National Unity Government current activity. To summarize, author presents general prognosis of further situation development for 2016.
