Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the relationship between membership in the voluntary sports organizations and trust between their members and thus in creating bridging social capital. Preliminary empirical analysis has been developed on the responses of survey conducted among ISAF Youth Match Racing World Championship. Author adopted logical diagram recommended by the World Bank. Results cannot be considered as a characteristic of the entire population but only as a characteristic of a narrow group of participants of one type of sailing regatta. Still, the results indicate that people who practice team sports e.g. team sailing trust more and have a greater potential for development of social capital than those not involved in volunteer sports activities.
