Summary/Abstract: The present comparative-typological characteristic study is an attempt to establish the genetic relationship in the instrumental folklore of the old Bulgarian population in Dobrudzha and North-East Bulgaria (grebentzi, hartsoi, kapantsi) and to determine the difference between it and the instrumental folklore of the settlers in the region, coming mainly from Thracia and the Balkan. Basic prerequisites for such a study are the common determining ethnographic and linguistic features, and on the other hand, the integral investigation of the instrumental folklore of grebentsi in Dobrudzha, which quantity of empiric material is imposing. The headstones in the comparative-typological study are four groups of chain dances (bora): Sborenka (Fair Dance), Raka (Arm), Danets (Dance) and Sey Bob (Sow Beans). Their invariant characteristics are: 1) stylized metrorythmical model; 2) melodical stereotype; 3) tempo indicator; 4) principles of formation on micro- and macro-structural level, help to find the integrating elements in a general musical folklore practice.
