Summary/Abstract: This is note about Scientific Conference: Arbitration in Sport 2012 which took place on 8thof February 2012, and was organized by The Dispute and Conflict Resolution Centre at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. During the Conference there were presentations of both: expert and practitioners of the sport arbitration such as: Yuliya Chernykh, Dr Lucien W. Valloni, Dr Jalal El Ahadab, Paweł Graniecki, Laurence Burger, Dr Nils Schmidt-Ahrensts, Olena Perepelymska, Jorge E. Ibarrola, Markiyan Kiluchkovskyi, Tomasz Zahorski, Dr Marek Jeżewski, Tomasz Pasieczny, Romana Troicka- Sosińska and finally Professor Andrzej Wach. Invited speakers gave their own presentations concerning sport arbitration aspects in perspective of the upcoming European Football Championschip UEFA EURO Poland – Ukraine 2012. The Conference consisted of three Panels, the first of which was moderated by PhD Beata Gessel – Kalinowska vel Kalisz and had a title “International sports arbitration. Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS)”. Moderator of the second Panel was Mr Piotr Nowaczyk and this part of the Conference was dedicated to “CAS Ad hoc Division. UEFA EURO 2012. Football cases”. Finally, third Panel was led by the Professor Zbigniew Ćwiąkalski – former Minister of Justice, recently appointed President of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Olympic Committee. This Panel was titled “Sports arbitration in Poland”. The main conclusion of the Conference was that changes that were made in polish sports regulation in the last few years were not the most fortunate and there is a great necessity of making amendments in polish model of sports arbitration in order to restore it character of the fast and efficient alternative way of resolving sport disputes.
