Summary/Abstract: The focus of the article is the issue of organizational and technological change from the cognitive processual perspective. The purpose of the article is to define the role of technology in the context of initiating and institutionalizing changes in enterprises. The processual approach in management can be referred to structuration theory by A. Giddens [1984] and explores management problems from the perspective of routines and activities performed on every day basis within the framework of realized practice. Case study carried out within this work illustrates the assumption that spontaneous actions can be an important factor of initiating technological changes in a company. The research has been preformed in a textile branch enterprise. Technology is a kind of organization’s resources that are strongly related with the context of interactions of people and artifacts. As a result of the research it can be concluded that technological change in the company is a functional, action-relatred category because a change in the way technology is applied in the company can influence the way everyday activites in the enterprise are performed and even the adopted business model.
