Summary/Abstract: “Keeping the High Wheelers in Line” discusses the specific phenomenon of high wheel or penny-farthing bicycles at international film festivals in Poland and abroad, as well as how organisers of cultural events capitalise on the current fashion for urban bicycling and retro-melancholy, in the process attempting to create interactive forms that get the audience involved. In the article, these are presented primarily from the perspective of a trio of cultural instigators: culture impresario Lila Majchrzycka, Prof. Marcin Giżycki, head of the Animator artistic festival, and MałgorzataKuzdra, manager of the Muza cinema in Poznań.
