Perspectives and challenges of tourism in the concept of sustainable use of natural resources

Summary/Abstract: Tourism has always been, is and will be linked to natural resources, reception areas, all of which values associated with penetrating places of exceptional scenic and natural values deserve special attention. Nature and biodiversity have now become one of the main motivators that encourage tourists to visit attractive natural areas often covered by the variety of forms of legal protection. The article is an attempt to answer the question whether nature actually plays such an important role in choosing the direction of recreation. The article aims to show the preferences of tourists in the forms of tourist behavior in the environment and the location of their natural trips. In the positive verification of the research hypothesis, which assumes that the most common form of staying close to nature is a close relationship of tourists with nature, stressing visiting protected areas and their observation, the results of the survey’s carried out among 1,130 respondents in the rural areas of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship were helpful.
