Reflectarea fitosimbolisticii în conștiința folclorică a purtătorilor de folclor rus din Republica Moldova
Reflecting of the phyto-symbolism in folk consciousness of the Russian folklore carriers in the Republic of Moldova

Summary/Abstract: According to our investigations, Russian folk songs, which can be found on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (in villages Kunicha, Pokrovka, Staraya Dobrudzha, Egorovka, etc.), are characterized by extensive use of vegetative symbols. They are much more frequent than animalistic symbols. This article explores a number of phyto-names – names of trees, grasses, shrubs, flowers, berries, vegetables and other crops, which together make up the picture of the vegetative symbols of folklore. Trees and shrubs are most frequency represented by the birch, oak, viburnum (kalina-malina), currants, poplar, aspen, apple, pear, grape-vines, etc.; among herbaceous the following are encountered: grass-chives (trava-murava), mugwort, corn, barley, poppy, flax, mint, rose, etc. The article points out that while analyzing the symbolism of songs, it is necessary to take into consideration the context as a whole and the complexity of images.
