Summary/Abstract: Gheorghe Neaga’s instrumental chamber music is a rich repertoire with many representative opuses for autochthonous academic music. „Trio for clarinet, violin and piano” proves this assertion. Composed in 1976, a period in which chamber ensembles constitute a crucial area for the composers’s repertoire, this work provides an heterogeneous summary, influenced thematically by popular soldierly song „Почта Полевая”, but inspired also by rhythmic and melodic affinities conjugate between Beethoven’s „Rondo alla ingharese a quasi Capriccio op. 129” and folk song „Am un leu şi vreu să-l beu”. Borrowing in different measure from character, atmosphere, rhythmic and melodic figures of these three sources, the author tried in an unique way to contain in his Trio an extended range of culturalism in time and space, while bringing together three areas of music – academic, military and folklore.
