Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the study was to determine energy demand of a wind-driven pulverising aerator under conditions of Lake Rudnickie Wielkie for pulverising aeration process of near-bottom waters. The research was carried out using daily wind velocity data collected in the years 1980–2009 and mathematical calculation of the Savonius rotor energy. The mean daily energy demand was found of the wind-driven pulverising aerator for Lake Rudnickie Wielkie for individual months, amounts from 0.144 to 1.144 kWh·d-1. Furthermore it was showed the pulverising aerator was capable of delivering dissolved oxygen in the range of 0.112 to 0.493 kg·d-1 to the near-bottom waters. The study was aimed at Grudziądz authorities. It is believed any details included in this paper will contribute to start of operation improving the water quality of Lake Rudnickie Wielkie.
