Summary/Abstract: The paper ponders over the lexicographic problems associated with recording operations in dictionaries (NJJ – stands for Polish ‘non-lexical language unit’). NJJ is interpreted in accordance with Andrzej Bogusławski’s concept of operational grammar. The starting point of the discussion is the search for various types of operating units (described in the cited literature) in dictionaries of contemporary Polish. The aim is to prepare the ground for a possible NJJs classification proposal, and to formulate suggestions concerning the ways of including the NJJ in future dictionaries.
