Summary/Abstract: In this study we try to speak about the divorce both according to civil legislation of the fourth century and according to the holy canons of St. Basil the Great. This study is devided into two parts. The first part deals with the divorce and adultery according to the civil legislation of the fourth century. Thesecond part deals with the same issues according to the canons of St. Basil the Great.
