Summary/Abstract: The issue of security, which has been one of the most prominent issues of the International Relations discipline, has been discussed under different theoretical approaches. Within the theoretical framework of realism and neorealism, security has been evaluated under the issues of military power and distribution of power among the states. As a critique of this approach, the Copenhagen School has widened the context of security by placing emphasis on political, societal, military, economic and environmental sectors.
