Summary/Abstract: The goal of elaboration is presentation, analysis and evaluation of changes on Polish labour market in transition period connected with change of government role in economy. In the first part of the article the market failures identified on the labour market have been presented. They determined the interference of the government into the labour market processes. In the second part the employment changes in the public sector have been illustrated. In the third part the effects of the process of creating flexibility on the Polish labour market have been presented. Finally, in the fifth part the evaluation of active labour market policy has been discussed. The conclusion of the elaboration contains the model of key issues determining the situation on the Polish labour market in the transition period.
