Summary/Abstract: This study presents a part of the substantial contribution which one of the most popular protopsalter teachers between Romanians, the arhimandrite Ghelasie Basarabeanul, had on developing and improving of the romanian byzantine musical patrimony. Even though they were composed for “the necessity of the seminar of the holy episcopate of Arges from Valahia”, the existence of many musical manuscripts found in different national centers such as: Bucuresti, Iasi, Craiova, Valcea, Brasov, etc., under the signature of Ghelasie or copied from his most worthy disciple , talk from themselves about the notoriety of this worthy disciple of music and, therewith, helps with the reconstitution of the list of his valuable byzantine creation. The five manuscript found in the Biblioteca Universitara from Iasi, presented in detail, come to confirm the above sayings. Between the arguments which highlights the importance of this musical documents we remind the manuscript with the quota III – 78 as representing the most complete doxastar from Ghelasie’screation, such as the precious detail found in the same manuscript, tab B, which helps with the right establishment on his death – the 8th of November 1855 (not long time ago it was considered in 1851).
