Public funds use against digital exclusion at the level of self-government

Summary/Abstract: Due to the fact that the scale of digital exclusion in Poland is not decreasing, there are taken actions to prevent it and its negative consequences. The aim of the study was to evaluate the level of use of local and EU public funds in the fight against digital exclusion at the local government level. Despite the widespread problem of the digital exclusion in every voivodeship a small percentage of municipalities and districts implement projects to counteract this phenomenon with the use of EU financial support. Significant differences in the level of obtained EU funds for co-financing of projects is largely due to their financial situation, as well as personnel problems. In conclusion an effective fight against the digital exclusion requires activities at many levels.
