Summary/Abstract: On the basis of the example of the mystical experience of Teresa Marchocka,we can see that the process of sanctification does not have the character of stages clearly separated from one another. It is instead a very complex process, consisting of various interspersed elements: aridity, obscurity, abandonment, fear, illuminations, feelings of the presence and of the absence of God, love, etc.
