Connections between mass-media and upbringing in modern society

Summary/Abstract: This article outlines the role, functions and connections of mass-media as part of the means of mass communication in the upbringing of children and youths or what is the media-education interaction in the modern social environment. Media, as an institutionalised source of diverse communication have an everyday effect and sometimes a negative effect on our children, affecting their way of communicating and behavioural reactions. The reader’s attention is also drawn to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, which realises the need of a stable media communication with its people as a form of church-cognitive and educational communication, adding to the sacrament-blessed life in the orthodox community
