Summary/Abstract: In the article the types of stereotypes in the activities of the teacher, the positive and the negative sides of stereotyping of professional activity are considered. Conducted exploratory study showed the presence of professional pedagogical stereotypes at the school teachers and University professors. It is established, that teachers are willing to destroy stereotypes negatively affecting activities, and therefore are ready to professional development through awareness and shattering of stereotypes. The technique of „multicolored glasses” to break stereotypes is offered. This article was prepared as a part of the research project „Psychological and pedagogical prevention of professional deformations of pedagogues” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
