Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of using multidimensional analysis in strategic management of local development. Presented here is a new approach to this process, aided by AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process and benchmarking). As the area were selected chosen mountain districts with similar characteristics and development. They were rated in terms of the level of competitiveness, taking a supply points of view (SEEGI Model), describing their endogenic potential. On this basis, the strategic situation of the investigated districts was assessed.
