Summary/Abstract: The article verifies the key issues from the area of contemporary fertility. Its main purpose is to describe the phenomenon of “fertility regression” and point to activities undertaken by the Church to help marriages that perform procreative functions and undertake responsible parenthood. The article refers to the reasons behind diminishing birth rates, their scope and the question of demographic renewal. The Church knowingly assists fertility issues on many levels: religious, cultic, economic, social, and mental. Accompanying family in procreation and education of children the Church cooperates with the activities undertaken by the State. It is obvious that every citizen is a social good and without replacement of generations every nation is doomed to “biological death”.
