Summary/Abstract: Modal connectors in the text of scientific and publicistic style have not been studied in detail. There is a general research of the modal words. This article focuses only on the individual modal connectors sence, their connotation, tendencies of usage in the text of scientific and publicistic style. Modal connectors are the measure of the text generation. Modal connectors according to the relationship expressed by sentences relate to doubt, belief, emphatic, sourse of information, comparative. Doubt and belief expressing connectors are quite popular in the texts of scientific and publicistic style. Connectors expressing sourse of information more often used in the texts of publicistic style, apparently due to the addresser defined avoid responsibility for the content. Emphatic connectors are more likely in the publicistic style texts.
