Summary/Abstract: A dynamic industrial development always implies changes in social and cultural structure. In this text, the author analyses such changes, and his main area of exploration is the rapidly developing community of Konin city in the second half of the 20th century. The author analyses various components of these changes against the background of the city’s rich history from the historical, statistical, cultural and intellectual perspectives.
