Summary/Abstract: The specificity of collective memory in religious communities is considered. Transformations of ways used to appeal to the past as a result of globalization are discussed. The research is based on the works promoting structural-functional and cultural semiotic approaches, uncovering the role of the religious field in social space structure and the dynamics with which images of the past transfer from the daily practices to the sphere of normalization. It is concluded that globalization develops a feedback between communicative and cultural memories, resulting in fragmentation of the existing religious traditions, as well as increase in the diversity of religious practices within the social, economic, and political context.
