Summary/Abstract: Maritime and Colonial League, working initially as the Maritime and River League, greatly contributedto the revival of social, culture and education activity in the Vilnius region. No previousstudies in this area, was the principal reason for the adoption of attempts to characterize theseareas. This is made possible by the historical legal method. Maritime and River League and Maritimeand Colonial League were apolitical organizations. Their activities focused on engaging ina number of cultural and educational initiatives in the region. It was only in the thirties focusedon security issues of the Polish state, and stressed the importance of colonialism, as a strategy fordevelopment of the state.
