Abstraction of Framework for Business Rules Extraction

Summary/Abstract: The automatic extraction of the valuable business knowledge from a software system is a well-known problem. As a first step to identifying the needed artifacts, this paper presents detailed structure of an abstract framework for extraction of business rules out of legacy systems. The components of the proposed framework aim to outline the basic steps, needed for extraction of business rules from a source code – from the static analysis of the code to the representation of the result business rules.
