Summary/Abstract: The article offers the author's technique of sociological diagnostics. The conclusion about contradictory social and professional well-being of teachers of the Ivanovo region is drawn on the basis of sociological research data. Calculated are the separate and total indexes of social well-being of the teachers of the regional center, the small towns and rural areas. The need for monitoring the situation is emphasized.
