Summary/Abstract: The article considers public and political moods of various groups of the intellectuals of Kazan during the revolution of 1905—1907. It is noted that at the initial stage of the revolution the most strongly pronounced political preferences were expressed by teachers and students of higher educational institutions of the city. Traced is the evolution of political moods of the Kazan intelligentsia after the announcement of October 17, 1905 Manifesto as well as participation of representatives of this segment of the population in activities of different vector political organizations.
