Summary/Abstract: The National female professional school in Tuzla started with work during 1916/1917. The school was located at the second floor of Gymnasium, where it had two large and two small rooms. In period 1916.-1929. classes have been tought by 23 teachers. School manager from 1916. to 1922. was Marija Dragutin, and from 1922. to 1929. Ljubica Jovanovic. At the end of their schooling students had to pass final exams from sewing and tailoring, as well as oral exam from manual work, drawing stitches, accounting, knowing materials and costumes, household managing. Interest of girls for signing in the school was huge not only in Tuzla but also from surrounding area. First school year started with 50 students, while during 1927/1928. there were 128 regular students of all confessions. School enjoyed good reputation among Tuzla's inhabitants that additionaly motivated school-management to improve the quality of classes as much as possible.
