Summary/Abstract: State archives of Montenegro, as a central archival institution, is competent for archival records and records management of the Montenegrin state administration, for public bodies, coorporations, legal and private bodies whose activity is spread all ovre the country, or in other words which is relevant for the state of Montenegro. The modern archival service, tending to organize and develop archival activity beyond the only collecting, preservation, professional processing and their accessibility to the users, is occupied by the very relationship between the Archives on one side and the creator of the records on another. One of the primary tasks of the State archives is the preservation of the documents at the creators, registering archival documents and records, the selecting of material with lasting value and classification of the archival material, registering, collecting and taking it over. These tasks are confided to the special service - service for the preservation of archival documents and records kept outside the archival premises. The importance of archival work in this field is the best seen in its organized and well planned actions with the records management. One of the aspects of this collaboration is activating and organizing the seminars and trainings courses where the participants from the archives and others from the records keepers are trying to overcome the existing problems. In that segment one should predict which the necessary tehnological conditions and prerogativesincludingthe well trained staff able to cope with the implementing of the modern technologies
