The paper explains why the partnership agreement is different from other contracts set forth in the New Civil Code. It focuses mainly on answering the question if the partnership agreement has a synallagmatic nature or not. In this sense, it explains the meaning of the classification in unilateral and bilateral (synallagmatic) contracts and it analyses the obligations of the parties of a partnership agreement in order to determine if they are reciprocal and interdependent or not.
